Comprehensive solutions in naval architecture, marine engineering, and project management.
We have more than 25 years of experience in project management, from planning of ideas or targets to the delivery of a finished product. We work together on your ideas and goals by breaking them down to a concrete sample of requirements that allow us to work by and follow throughout the project.
We are used to working with conceptual studies to be able to make decision-making and can act as a collaborator in the decision-making process.
We work with WBS elements (Work Breakdown Structure), in order to gain a improved control for both in the planning as the execution phases. These parts also form the basis, for example, the weight calculators (where applicable) and specification writing. Last but not least, the work of making a concrete breakdown of the project makes it much easier for your internal budget monitoring.
With our background as shipbuilders, we have the habit of working with large complex solutions from both large and small projects. In the boat and ship area, we help you to take an idea into a complete concept. This includes developing hulls, general arrangements and 3D visualizations. For other areas, we can support you in your work on designing and developing drawings, modulations and visualizations.
Since we also have a background from the Swedish Defence Agency and are used to working with military equipment, we are versed to work with supportive processes, confidentiality, system security (applied within the Armed Forces), objectives, requirement specification, verification and validation.
With the education, naval architects, combined with calculations of constructions from both regulations as free constructions as our background, we have a thorough experience in developing design documentation. We perform calculations ranging from simple attachments to entire vessels and we also can produce designs and production bases for these.
We are used to working on behalf of the customers, but we also work close with the customer during the design process. In many cases, visualization is also performed to better show how the result of the product. Take a look here for examples for the result of the rendered visualisations.
We have through previous employments at the Defence Material Administration and in the years of work within the shipbuilding industry gained a solid experience in working with government procurement and to comply with the Swedish Public Procurement Act, LOU. This applies to everything from providing support for smaller orders to orders in billion. We have the opportunity to help you that work within municipalities, county councils or state activities design your procurement so it does not conflict with the LOU, in order to avoid appeals and potential redoes in the process, but for that matter do not waive the quality of what you procure.
For you who are in the process of submitting a tender to a municipal, county council or government procurement. We have the opportunity to assist you in designing your tender to make it valid as well as help you extract a basis that will be included in the tender and design it in a way that makes it easy to evaluate, in order for you to have the best opportunities to participate in a procurement.
We have developed several complete tender documents for quotes for shipyards in different price sizes and evaluating tenders as technical experts internationally.
We have specialised us in visualisation because we consider visualisation to be an important tool for making an early decision regarding a product or impression. Products are the most commonly associated with visualization. The advantage of a visualization is the possibility to determine whether the design is correct or not and that the end user can have a saying when they see the product. You can also print prototypes to CAM directly from the 3D models in order to an even wider basis for validating your product. For larger objects, a sense of whether walls, windows and doors are properly placed and you can change their location in real time through the visualization tool. It also gives an opportunity to get the correct perception of the field of vision, blocking objects, etc. of craft and vehicle production.
However, what may be as important is the impression. How to experience rooms, different decorations, color schemes and lighting. By using one the most advanced rendering tools on the market we can create a correct picture of how a lighting will be experienced in reality.
Visualisation is commonly referred as a single concept. For us, it is important that there are different levels that all complement a function and all build on each other. Modelling, which is great for showing how it will look, how one thing will work, etc. Visualization, which puts on materials, steel, wood, water, etc. to get more realistic images and eventually Photo Reality, where you can go further and add pictures in the background with the natural environments to make an even more realistic image.
Theory is really good. One drawback is that reality differs from theory. We have a theoretical background with project management, construction of ships and boats. In addition, we have 25 years of practical learning which allows the theory and reality to be combined into a better understanding and split what is pure theory and what is the harsh reality. Since we work on both the ordering and the supplier side, we know how the different worlds reason, how well the theory and reality are together.
We are course holders and lecturers on universities including Tallinn Technical with high grades in evaluations for courses in boat construction and project management.
We are able to perform stability calculations and produce stability booklets ranging from large vessels as to smaller boats. With our experience of projecting both small boats to larger vessels, we have reviewed and worked with several regulations and have also worked towards the Transport Agency and most classification societies.
Poseidon Konsult is part of the Maritime Consultant Network Redarservice. A network of several companies with top level knowledge working together over Sweden to share knowledge and workforce. We are working with customers and partners which some are mentioned below.
